Rick sowers Posted June 1, 2012 at 07:27 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2012 at 07:27 PM If a meeting starts with a quarum and during the meeting people leave and the number present drops below the quarum, does the meeting stop or can we continue.? If we continue, can we vote on motions?
David A Foulkes Posted June 1, 2012 at 07:35 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2012 at 07:35 PM Beginning on page 347 line 21 (RONR 11th Ed.) and for the next couple pages you'll read about what can be done at a meeting with no quorum. What you can't do is continue on, making motions (with verrrry few exceptions, as noted in that section) and voting on them as if a quorum were still present. The meeting may not come to a grinding halt right away, but in short order your options will be fairly limited, most likely leading to adjournment before long. But I suspect you knew, or guessed, that yesterday.
