Guest Louis Woody Posted June 9, 2012 at 12:13 AM Report Share Posted June 9, 2012 at 12:13 AM If a meeting is started with a quorum and at some point the quorum is lost, is the meeting automatically adjourned? Or does the normal rules still govern requiring a motion to adjourn, a second and a majority affirmative vote?
jstackpo Posted June 9, 2012 at 12:15 AM Report Share Posted June 9, 2012 at 12:15 AM In the order you asked....No.Yes. But there are other things to do in an inquorate meeting that might be important to do before you adjourn - see p. 347.
Guest ParksnRec Posted August 13, 2019 at 07:02 PM Report Share Posted August 13, 2019 at 07:02 PM Hello, We recently lost quorum during a city commission meeting and elected to still hold the "public comment" portion since the room was full of constituents and there was no "business" being conducted with letting members of the public speak their mind about a current topic. The city clerk is of the opinion that the meeting had to adjourn, so the minutes do not include the 40+ members of the public speaking. Is this correct?
