Recording motions in minutes

We had a motion in which the secretary presented that motion. Due to that, 2 others separately while the secretary was doing other motions also took notes.

One motion was done by voice vote and the secretary noted no objections and the 2 others just noted motion passed. Sometimes we also do show of hands...

A board member claims that they never heard this motion presented nor did some others that they say that they spoke to although the motions were sent out in advance and the minutes were also sent out..

Questions are:

Is there a requirement in roberts rules when showing a motion that you have to show yes and no's?

Since this person claims that they did not vote for this should the mminutes be changed as right now the minutes say no objections to the motion it does not say just motions passes.

With a voice vote, you do not tabulate the "number of "yes" and "no" votes. You just indicate "Adopted", "defeated" or the equivalent. Your "No objections" is OK, but "adopt" would have been better.

The time for members to complain that "they didn't hear the motion" is long past -- they should have raised a point of order when the motion was being presented. Or maybe a point of personal privilege if the motion maker was inaudible. Or maybe they should pay better attention, like in kindergarten.

It is the responsibility of the chair to (attempt to) see to it that all the members know what is going on in the meeting. (Sometimes this is impossible with some members - oh well, that's life.)

I guess he'd be justified to request that the words "with no objections" be removed, if he actually had an objection, unless the chair had checked for objections or actually used the words "without objection". Otherwise the words didn't really belong there in the first place.

None of this would affect the fact that the motion passed. And no rule can guarantee that all members will be listening when votes are taken.
