Guest Terence Kuch Posted September 27, 2012 at 07:03 PM Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 at 07:03 PM For the Annual Meeting of an organization, member A, who expects to be absent, has submitted his proxy form designating B to hold his proxy. Separately and without knowing what A has done, B has designated C as his own proxy-holder.B is absent from the meeting. Can C now vote A's proxy as well as B's?Thank you.(VP, a Virginia Homeowners' Association)terencekuch@gmail.com
Trina Posted September 27, 2012 at 07:06 PM Report Share Posted September 27, 2012 at 07:06 PM RONR does not have much to say about proxies, since the use of proxies is not part of the operation of a deliberative assembly as described in RONR.See this FAQ for further comments. Gary Novosielski Posted September 29, 2012 at 06:48 PM Report Share Posted September 29, 2012 at 06:48 PM RONR prohibits proxy voting to the greatest extent permissible under the law. Therefore, any rules regarding proxies (in the event that they're actually allowed somehow in your organization) would have to come from elsewhere.
