Trina Posted September 30, 2012 at 12:04 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2012 at 12:04 PM Sorry Edgar, but I will add to the chorus of questions --Ray, could you explain what exactly you have in mind when you use the phrase "made public"?Looking at it from a different point of view, if you are (perhaps) asking whether the minutes of an emergency special session can be sequestered so that there is no way for members of the organization to ever examine them, the answer would be "no". Guest Edgar Posted September 30, 2012 at 12:07 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2012 at 12:07 PM Sorry Edgar, but I will add to the chorus of questions --No problem. I seem to have been a little more curmudgeonly than usual last night.
Gary Novosielski Posted September 30, 2012 at 08:12 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2012 at 08:12 PM Minutes of all meetings of a body are to be made available to all members of that body. So, if a meeting of the membership takes place, whether regular or special, the minutes must be made available for inspection by any member, by reasonable arrangement with the secretary. There is no case where they must be made available to members of the public, i.e., non-members of the society, except perhaps under some unusual circumstance such as a court order, but by that time there'll be all sorts of lawyers involved, and you'll get your advice from yours..
