Guest Jennifer Posted October 9, 2012 at 09:14 PM Report Share Posted October 9, 2012 at 09:14 PM A vote was held today in a meeting of 16 board members. the vote was in regards to a recommendation to the board to endorse a local candidate for election. 8 board members voted yes, 4 voted no, and 4 sustained. Does the sustained votes count as no votes, or does the recommendation for endorsement be sustained due to not having a 2/3 vote?

See FAQ #6.It looks like the vote was 8-4, which would qualify as both a majority vote and a two-thirds vote.
