jstackpo Posted October 12, 2012 at 04:52 PM Report Share Posted October 12, 2012 at 04:52 PM We all know, from the footnote on p. 263, that a 2/3 vote is required to allow a non-member to speak in debate, i.e. when a motion is pending. However, is there anywhere in the book an explicit statement that a majority vote is sufficient to grant a non-member the opportunity to speak when there is nothing pending? (Perhaps the non-member wants someone the association to make a motion to support the non-members cause. Or whatever.)
Rev Ed Posted October 12, 2012 at 05:46 PM Report Share Posted October 12, 2012 at 05:46 PM Sounds logical to me. Of course, approving an Agenda which includes a "Presentation" from a non-member, or a Board allowing setting aside time for general members to raise questions, would be accepted by a majority vote when the Agenda is set.
