Guest Guest_CR Posted November 1, 2012 at 03:48 PM Report Share Posted November 1, 2012 at 03:48 PM Bylaws state that elections are held yearly and specific positions are up for re-election in odd years and the other in even years. A board member, who is not up for election this year, runs for a position that is up in the current year. When this person is nominated, is their current position automatically vacated? The person did not win the new position and wants to return to their current position. Some of the board beleives the position was vacated when they ran for a new position. Others beleive the position is not vacated unless the person got elected into the new position.
JohnR Posted November 1, 2012 at 04:38 PM Report Share Posted November 1, 2012 at 04:38 PM The candidate does not give up his office merely by running for another, unless your bylaws say so.
