inquring mind Posted November 4, 2012 at 12:25 AM Report Share Posted November 4, 2012 at 12:25 AM Our organization is undergoing a restructuring. Our executive director resigned amid questions related to finances. Does the current president need approval from the entire BOD to authorize an audit of the organization's books or can the President and/or officers go ahead if they feel it is warrranted. what is our resource if the treasurer was negligent in their duties? jstackpo Posted November 4, 2012 at 12:52 AM Report Share Posted November 4, 2012 at 12:52 AM President need Approval? Probably, especially if it will cost money. Seems unlikely that the president would be authorized in the bylaws to call for (hire?) an audit on his/her own. Perhaps the board can, however -- check the bylaws.Resource? -- throw the bum out -- see Chapter XX and p. 574, 653 in particular.
