Guest wondering Posted January 29, 2013 at 05:45 PM Report Share Posted January 29, 2013 at 05:45 PM If a society's board can fill vacancies as per page 467, may the executive committee, which has much or all of the power of the board in between board meetings assume this power for the board? Thank you.

George Mervosh Posted January 29, 2013 at 10:01 PM Report Share Posted January 29, 2013 at 10:01 PM If a society's board can fill vacancies as per page 467, may the executive committee, which has much or all of the power of the board in between board meetings assume this power for the board? Thank you.As Dan notes, quoting bits and pieces from the book isn't always going to get you your answer. The passage in the book is saying, how much power the EC will have depends on the wording in the bylaws, just as how much power a Board has is based on the wording in the bylaws. This can vary widely between societies.
