Audit Committee Members

The President appoints the standing committees and has appointed himself and the treasurer to the Audit Committee.

I was under the impression that those are two individuals that should not be on the Audit Committee. Is there anything in the 11th edition that would reference that?

Your "impression" is a good one, but RONR has no rule mandating the exclusion of those two folks from the committee.

Sounds a little shifty...

Time for a bylaw amendment making your "impression" into a bylaw provision.

Ah, another case of "I can police myself, thank you very much."

Just never seems to work out well: not for the police, not for the medical community, and not much for CFO's/Treasurers...

dun dun dun...I wonder how this will work out...

*imagines the efforts to persuade a bylaw change and the contention/opposition from the President-police and the Treasurer-police.

Well, RONR notes that many organizations provide that the president shall be a member of all committees except the nominating committee.
