Nominations from non-voting members

Are Honorary members who are non-voting members allowed to nominate people for office? Our by-laws only say that honorary members are non-voting members.

Take a look at what RONR says about honorary members on page 463. This may assist you in interpreting what your bylaws say in this regard.

If the only person willing to nominate a particular candidate is a non-voting member, that candidate's chances for being elected would seem pretty slim. Also keep in mind that a candidate can nominate himself.

That is a great point. Same reason that a motion requires a second. If no one is interested in a topic or person, why waste the bodies time talking about it or them.

If a non-voting member wants someone to be nominated, I suggest they talk to a member and suggest it.
