Guest Jerry Posted March 14, 2013 at 05:22 AM Report Share Posted March 14, 2013 at 05:22 AM Need some help with new business. Can a resolution be offered and voted on in the new business section of an agenda? Or does a resolution need to be provided prior to a meeting? Sean Hunt Posted March 14, 2013 at 05:44 AM Report Share Posted March 14, 2013 at 05:44 AM Normally, a motion can be made, debated (an important step!) and voted on during the new business section of the agenda. That is, after all, the point of new business. The only times that this is not the case are if the motion requires previous notice (usually only bylaw amendments or motions relating to special rules of order). You should check your organization's special rules of order to see if any other motions require previous notice.
