Josh Martin Posted September 11, 2013 at 02:48 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2013 at 02:48 PM Can the board announce the person who is being disciplined after a closed session? e.g. suspension without pay of an employee With regards to the general question, if the board expelled a member or removed an officer from office, the name of the member or officer and the fact that he was expelled or removed from office could be disclosed outside of the society, but only to the extent necessary to protect the society and/or other organizations. No other facts could be disclosed outside of the society. RONR says nothing about what the board may choose to disclose within the society. With regards to your specific example, those rules are not written with employees (non-members) in mind. RONR does not say anything specific about what may or may not be disclosed when disciplining an employee. It may be wise to get legal advice.
