Portcullischain Posted September 16, 2013 at 04:10 PM Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 at 04:10 PM Our Cub Scout Pack held a committee meeting yesterday and apparently (I wasn't there) things got heated. The Chair, feeling slighted, left the meeting abruptly. Our group doesn't have any bylaws that state who takes over presiding the meeting if this happens. Does the meeting enter an "adjourned" state and the minutes should stop at the point the Chair left? Should the members who were left over have voted for a president pro tem to continue the agenda? Josh Martin Posted September 16, 2013 at 04:14 PM Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 at 04:14 PM Does the meeting enter an "adjourned" state and the minutes should stop at the point the Chair left? No (although if everyone got up and left at that point, the meeting is adjourned). Should the members who were left over have voted for a president pro tem to continue the agenda? The Vice Chair would take over, if there is one. If you don't have a Vice Chair, or if the Vice Chair is also absent, then the assembly would elect a Chairman Pro Tempore.
