Charges against members and hearings

Members filed charges against other members and a hearing committee was appointed.  The committee found for the complaintants.  This is a Club and the defendants are now on a members forum riling up the membership by putting forth basically lies about the hearing, the procedure, etc.  RR says only the results can be released.  But what of a case where the defendants are publicly lying?  Is there any way to put across the facts?

Sometimes you have to lower yourself to playing by their rules.  Use the same forum they are to present an opposing view.

When RONR says that "only the results may be released" (and actually, even the results may be released only under very limited circumstances), it is referring to what information may be released outside of the society. If the hearing committee wishes to release information about the hearing within the society, it is free to do so.

So long as the committee agrees to this report, I don't have a problem with this, and wouldn't call it "lowering themselves." Individual members of the committee, however, should not take it upon themselves to violate executive session (especially when disciplinary procedures are involved).
