Guest Elly B Posted September 19, 2013 at 08:50 PM Report Share Posted September 19, 2013 at 08:50 PM Can a motion that was carried at a previous meeting be rescinded at a subsequent meeting?
Guest Edgar Posted September 19, 2013 at 09:01 PM Report Share Posted September 19, 2013 at 09:01 PM Generally speaking, yes, to the extent that the action authorized by the adopted (not "carried") motion has not yet been completed. To use a popular example, once the clubhouse has been painted, it's too late to rescind the motion that authorized the painting. Note. too, that the voting threshold required to rescind a motion is typically higher than that required to adopt it in the first place.
