Nominating Committee Chairperson

The nominating committee's duty is to nominate the people they consider to be best for the positions of officers and board of directors.  If the committee chairperson chooses not to be a nominee for one of those board positions on the slate, can he later be nominated from the floor for that same position?

No rule in RONR would prohibit it.

Yes, after the report of the nominating committee, the chair must ask for further nominations.  At that time, members can make nominations.

It could be that he is willing to serve but didn't feel right being nominated by the committee he is chairing.

(In fact, his turning down the prospect of being nominated by the nominating committee is the only way he could be later nominated from the floor for that same position. ;)  )
