Ability of voting membership to change an internal contract

Is a contract or agreement, once voted on by the then current voting membership changeable or able to be revised by future voting membership if it is felt to no longer be in the best interest of the entire organization? Example is a 20+ year old agreement to provide a monthly retirement of sorts to a spouse of deceased officer.  Original agreement has built in raises but has now grown to an almost unreachable level for the organization to maintain.  What are our options?  Does the current body have to be tied to an agreement made by members that are almost entirely gone and no longer with organization?

From a parliamentary perspective, the contract may be amended by means of the motion to Amend Something Previously Adopted. It requires a 2/3 vote, a vote of a majority of the entire membership, or a majority vote with previous notice. If you've signed a contract, however, you should consult a lawyer before proceeding.
