minutewriter Posted October 24, 2013 at 03:51 PM Report Share Posted October 24, 2013 at 03:51 PM We recently had a board meeting where the Board Chair called the meeting to order but did note that we did not have quorum yet and so would listen to a Agency Program Presentation since it did not require action and once we have quorum will continue with the rest of the agenda. We did reach quorum prior to the end of the program presentation. Once the presentation was over the Board Chair recognized that we had quorum and the meeting could continue. Question: Is the meeting called to order when it actually begins or after quorum is reached?

Question: Is the meeting called to order when it actually begins or after quorum is reached? It is called to order when it actually begins, or shortly after. It would be appropriate for the chair to wait a short time before calling the meeting to order if a quorum is not yet present, but he is not required to do so.
