Submitting vote prior to leaving meeting

We will need to appointment a replacement Board Member at our next meeting.  I will attend the beginning of the meeting but won't be there for the vote.  May I leave my recommendation in the form of a vote prior to leaving the meeting, or must I be present during the actual vote?

You must be present to vote but the assembly could move the election closer to the beginning of the meeting (which is what RONR advises anyway, lest the process take longer than expected).
