Weldon Merritt Posted December 4, 2013 at 08:24 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2013 at 08:24 PM Not as far as RONR is concerned. And if by "run-off" you mean voting on just the top two, or dropping the lowest vote-getter, neither of those is proper under RONR. All candidates remain on the ballot for subsequent votes, unless your customized rules require otherwise, or unless a candidate voluntarilly withdraws. (And even if a candidate withdraws, members are free to vote for him as a write-in unless your bylaws prohibit write-ins.)
Josh Martin Posted December 4, 2013 at 08:27 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2013 at 08:27 PM When there is a run-off in voting for officers, must the number of votes per person be publicized? The results must be included in the minutes, if that's what you mean. If by "publicized" you mean shared with the public, RONR does not require that. Not as far as RONR is concerned. Well, maybe not. I'm not entirely sure what the OP means by "publicized."

Maybe I was assuming too much. I agree that the results of each round of voting, including the number of votes for each candidate, must be included in the minutes. Guest Edgar Posted December 4, 2013 at 10:18 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2013 at 10:18 PM I agree that the results of each round of voting, including the number of votes for each candidate, must be included in the minutes. And not only included in the minutes but announced at the meeting at which the voting is taking place.
