capt49 Posted December 21, 2013 at 12:20 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2013 at 12:20 AM Can you count the ballots a second time if the result of your election comes out to be a tie. And there nothing in our by-laws says that you cannot.
Guest Edgar Posted December 21, 2013 at 12:26 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2013 at 12:26 AM As long as the ballots have been securely preserved, the assembly can order a recount. And, in the event of a tie, it probably should.
Rev Ed Posted December 21, 2013 at 06:13 AM Report Share Posted December 21, 2013 at 06:13 AM Can you count the ballots a second time if the result of your election comes out to be a tie. And there nothing in our by-laws says that you cannot. Well it could. But that is only if there is doubt in the validity of the count. As this is an election, a second ballot vote would take place. If that also results in a tie vote (or no candidate received a majority of votes cast), a third, fourth, five, round of balloting would take place until someone receives a majority vote.
