Adjournment in recognition

I'm not a procedure expert.  Our president is retiring, and today at his last Board meeting, they decided to "adjourn in recognition of the President."  I'm just wondering if this is a rule of order that I've never seen before, and if there is a way I should note it, or if I express it just as they did in the meeting.

I haven't heard of "adjourning in recognition of the President" either.  I suppose if the Board adopted such a motion you should record it in the minutes using the same wording the President used when he put the question (to a vote).  Later when someone who is reviewing the minutes asks what the heck that means you can direct him or her to the Board member who made the suggestion in the first place (hopefully that person knows what they meant ;) ).
