If all our chairs are refered to as Chairwoman in our By-Laws, not Chairman, are we breaking the Robert's Rules of Order?
Weldon Merritt Posted April 4, 2014 at 04:17 AM Report Share Posted April 4, 2014 at 04:17 AM No. While RONR uses the term "chairman," it does not preclude use of alternative titles.
Guest Edgar Posted April 4, 2014 at 11:57 AM Report Share Posted April 4, 2014 at 11:57 AM And there's nothing in RONR that says that bylaws can't "break" RONR. The rules in bylaws frequently contradict those in RONR.
