Guest Tamacon Posted April 9, 2014 at 01:04 PM Report Share Posted April 9, 2014 at 01:04 PM Is the Parliamentarian on the nominating committee by default? Is the Parliamentarian the chair over the Bylaws committee usually? I was told this but have not been able to find this in our current edition of RROR. jstackpo Posted April 9, 2014 at 01:11 PM Report Share Posted April 9, 2014 at 01:11 PM You couldn't find it because it is not there. Ask your "informant" where he got that "rule". Blue sky, probably.

Gary c Tesser Posted April 10, 2014 at 03:09 AM Report Share Posted April 10, 2014 at 03:09 AM The parliamentarian must be on the bylaws committee so that he knows what everybody is thinking but he should not be on the nominating committee because then he would know what everybody is thinking. (Having thought about this for a few days, I must remark that possibly it makes more sense than I had intended, at least from the standard Stalinesque parliamentary point of view. (My apologies.)
