Guest Unsure7430 Posted April 14, 2014 at 01:09 PM Report Share Posted April 14, 2014 at 01:09 PM We recently had a close election for President of our club. The majority (5-2 of 7 member Board) wants this new President off of the Board for too many reasons to list. After the reasons are addressed at the meeting, will a simple "No confidence" or "Censure" motion achieve this?
Chris Harrison Posted April 14, 2014 at 01:17 PM Report Share Posted April 14, 2014 at 01:17 PM No. You will need to follow whatever procedures that are in the bylaws regarding removing him from the Board in order to accomplish this. See FAQ #20.

After the reasons are addressed at the meeting, will a simple "No confidence" or "Censure" motion achieve this? Presuming that the president was elected by the membership, and the board is subordinate to the membership, the board should probably consider getting used to it.
