Guest guest Posted April 16, 2014 at 11:11 PM Report Share Posted April 16, 2014 at 11:11 PM At our last board meeting a motion was made and passed. One of the members who voted with the prevailing side on the passed motion, has asked for a recall of the motion at our next meeting. What would be the correct way to do this ? Our by-laws address presumption of assent, does this effect a members ability to readdress a motion in which they voted the way of the prevailing side. Guest Edgar Posted April 16, 2014 at 11:35 PM Report Share Posted April 16, 2014 at 11:35 PM At this point, how any member voted is immaterial. But as long as the action authorized by the motion hasn't been completed, it should be possible to rescind or otherwise amend it. Any member can make a motion to do so. I'm not sure what your bylaws mean by the "presumption of assent" but voting on the prevailing side is only relevant for the very specific motion to "Reconsider" and it's too late for that.
