Netgnat Posted April 28, 2014 at 12:02 AM Report Share Posted April 28, 2014 at 12:02 AM A motion was denied because absentee votes were accidentally counted in error as 'no' votes. Do i just make a motion to correct the record at the next meeting due to the error?
jstackpo Posted April 28, 2014 at 12:10 AM Report Share Posted April 28, 2014 at 12:10 AM Actually, you should make a motion for a recount - p. 418-419. This presumes that various timeliness conditions &c. have been met. It also substantially presumes that the ballots have been securely saved since the first time they were counted. If you can't meet the conditions, and no recount is possible, then the defeat of the motions stands. However, sine the motion was defeated (per the declaration of the chair) it can be made again ("renewed") at any later session/meeting.
