jstackpo Posted May 21, 2014 at 08:08 AM Report Share Posted May 21, 2014 at 08:08 AM And take special note of this qualifier in that FAQ#1: "If the president is a member of the voting body..." From what you write it sounds as though he cannot vote on ties or anything else. Don't forget that a tie vote defeats the motion under consideration -- no need to "break" that tie, the decision is clear.

Gary Novosielski Posted May 21, 2014 at 02:43 PM Report Share Posted May 21, 2014 at 02:43 PM There is a tie at the annual meeting. The president is not the registered voter for the condo unit owned. Can the president vote to break the tie?If the president is not a voter, he cannot vote. The motion fails. If it was an election, you need to continue to vote until someone succeeds. If it wasn't you just carry on as with any other motion that fails.
