Chris Harrison Posted June 23, 2014 at 07:53 PM Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 at 07:53 PM The Secretary has the same rights as any other member (assuming the Secretary is a member). However, while making a motion to approve the minutes is technically not out of order the proper procedure is located on RONR pp. 354-355.
Dan Honemann Posted June 23, 2014 at 08:04 PM Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 at 08:04 PM Can the board secretary make a motion to approve the minutes that they have written? Yes, but the chair, if he knows what he is doing, will simply ignore it. See pages 354-55 in RONR, 11th ed., as suggested by Chris Harrison.
