MurraFJ Posted June 29, 2014 at 09:38 PM Report Share Posted June 29, 2014 at 09:38 PM Should the president of an organization, who meets monthly with the Executive committee (Committee Chairs) who brings issues for vote to the Executive body and ultimately the General orgainzation, bring the issues for vote to the General body herself? Example if Membership Committee needs additional $100.00 for activity and the Executive Committee votes "Yes"; should the President presentthe issue and call for the vote? Edgar Guest Posted June 29, 2014 at 09:44 PM Report Share Posted June 29, 2014 at 09:44 PM If the president is not a member of the executive committee (you say he "meets with" it), then I would think a member of the committe e (the "reporting member") should be the one to make the motion at a meeting of the general membership. But if it's up to the general membership to authorize the expenditure, why is the executive committee considering it at all? Is there anything your executive committee can do without the subsequent approval of the general membership?
