jstackpo Posted July 3, 2014 at 07:13 PM Report Share Posted July 3, 2014 at 07:13 PM The usual "nomination process"doesn't involve any motions at all. What motions are you thinking of?
Edgar Guest Posted July 3, 2014 at 07:15 PM Report Share Posted July 3, 2014 at 07:15 PM Huh? Once the nominating committee (if there is one) has presented its report, the nominating process consists of members rising and saying, "I nominate John Doe for President". No "original motion"; no "subsequent motions". Or, if you're asking if the President should be elected before asking for nominations and electing the vice-president, it's up each organization. When the vote is by ballot (as it usually is in elections), it's common (but not universal) to elect all officers at the same time.
Gary Novosielski Posted July 3, 2014 at 07:40 PM Report Share Posted July 3, 2014 at 07:40 PM During the nominating process for new officers which should be voted on first the original motion or the subsequent motion? There aren't any motions in a properly run nomination process, so the answer is "neither".
