mombny Posted August 12, 2014 at 03:48 AM Report Share Posted August 12, 2014 at 03:48 AM Please clarify. New Pres. wants bylaw changes asap. She set up an 'ad hoc' committee. Now two weeks later, she has disbanded this committee, and said that the 5 Executive Board members would make the changes and present them to members. I thought it had to be done by a by-laws review committee or resolutions committee. Could someone please clarify the correct way to go about this. There is nothing in the by-laws. Edgar Guest Posted August 12, 2014 at 11:58 AM Report Share Posted August 12, 2014 at 11:58 AM Any member can make a motion to amend the bylaws. No committee is necessary (though one might be advisable if extensive changes are being considered). The board's proposal enjoys no special status (and is, itself, subject to modification (i.e. amendment) so it's not a "take it or leave it" proposition).
