Edgar Guest Posted September 9, 2014 at 07:04 PM Report Share Posted September 9, 2014 at 07:04 PM RONR notes that committees don't usually take formal minutes (and, if they do, it would be the committee that approves them, not the board). When the committee reports to the board it's the report that's presented, not minutes.
George Mervosh Posted September 9, 2014 at 07:04 PM Report Share Posted September 9, 2014 at 07:04 PM Do the minutes compiled from a committee meeting require full board approval or can they simply be submitted as information? " In small committees, the chairman usually acts as secretary, but in large ones and many standing committees, a secretary may be chosen to keep a brief memorandum in the nature of minutes for the use of the committee." RONR (11th ed.), p. 500 Since the book says they are for the use of the committee, the committee can either destroy them or submit them for information, but they do not need to be approved by the board.
