Guest jerry Posted September 19, 2014 at 05:37 PM Report Share Posted September 19, 2014 at 05:37 PM How can an organization run, if no one runs for office. All office from President to Secretary are vacant. We vote next week to run as a club by committee. Is this correct until our next voting term, in three years. Timothy Posted September 19, 2014 at 05:57 PM Report Share Posted September 19, 2014 at 05:57 PM Whatever you do, you need a president and a secretary, though there is no reason why the president must do anything other than preside at meetings and the secretary take minutes of the meetings. It sounds like you club gives them more responsibilities than that. You mentioned running the club by committee. I'm not sure how that is different from what you've already tried to do. It seems like there are only two possibilities. Either your club runs itself as a deliberative body, or it gives authority to a subset of the club. Edgar Guest Posted September 19, 2014 at 05:59 PM Report Share Posted September 19, 2014 at 05:59 PM It seems like there are only two possibilities. Either your club runs itself as a deliberative body, or it gives authority to a subset of the club. If the subset is willing to serve they should be elected to the necessary offices. But there's a third possibility:dissolving the club if no one is willing to step up to the plate.

Timothy Posted September 20, 2014 at 01:04 AM Report Share Posted September 20, 2014 at 01:04 AM So it's "Timmy" now? There's only one person I know of who has ever called me Timmy. The only reason they got by with it is because I was taught never to hit a girl.
