Guest Reg Posted September 23, 2014 at 01:30 AM Report Share Posted September 23, 2014 at 01:30 AM Just a few weeks ago a baptist regional association met for its annual session and elected officers. The immediate past moderator closed the old session and open the new session. Is this problematic according to Roberts rules. Many are saying the new session isn't officially open because he was no longer in office due to the completed installation of new officers. What are your interpretations? It's a little problematic, but it is hardly severe enough to mean that "the new session isn't officially open." While the new moderator should have presided, it's water under the bridge at this point.
Timothy Posted September 23, 2014 at 01:45 PM Report Share Posted September 23, 2014 at 01:45 PM My interpretation is that it shouldn't have been done, but there are more important things to be concerned about. The wrong person opening the session doesn't prevent business from being done.

If nobody raised a point of order at the time, then it doesn't matter what "many" are whining saying now. You snooze; you lose.
