Revocation of Membership

Our bylaws state that membership in our organization may be revoked by a 2/3 vote of the board of directors.  If there is more than one member who has met the "requirements" for expulsion, are we required to make separate motions to revoke the membership of each individual, or can we make one motion, naming each of them in a single motion?

The motion can be made either way.  If one motion is made to cover all individuals, a member could move to divide the question (needs to be adopted by majority vote without debate) allowing one or more to be voted on individually.

While there is no parliamentary rule to prevent you from making one all-encompassing motion, in the interest of the targeted parties who shall put up a defense, it seems only fair that the expulsion occur as independent motions.

Else you will have to dispose of both parties in the same way, even if the circumstances, and the defensive justifications, are significantly different.

(Exteme example: If one party dies, then it will be awkward to punish a dead person, as you simultaneously punish a live person.)

If you were voting on these members, wouldn't you want the ability to vote differently on one than on the other?

I don't find it so strange. If they've got fifty people who haven't paid their dues, or whatever, they probably just want to kick them out and move on. But if someone wants to make an exception, they've got that option.
