President making motions, voting

I recently had a discussion regarding part of this topic, but need a little further clarification.

I am the president of a singing chorus, about 40 members, with a board of 11 total when you

include the past president.  My earllier question was whether the president voted in situations

other than tie breaker situations.   Virtually all of the comments said that in a small board situation

the president should be as active in making motions, voting, etc, as any other member.

This is what I have done, and the chapter and verseof my actions is being questioned on this stand.  Can anyone steer me to some help ?

And get a copy of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, 11th edition (RONR) and/or Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief (RONRIB) and show them the pertinent sections.  http://www.robertsrules.com/book.html

The Board itself can decide whether to use the regular rules or the "Small Board Rules" unless the society itself dictates otherwise.
