At a recent Women Auxiliary meeting, I tabled a vote-only to have the President say that "No-we can not do that because we got to vote

on it know or the Legion will do away with it. She went ahead and held a vote not even 2 minutes after it was tabled and  proceed in making and caring out her plans anyways. What's Roberts Rules on this ? I strongly feel the money should come out of this woman pocket and not from the Auxiliary.

It is unclear what exactly happened.  When you say "I tabled a vote" do you mean the assembly itself voted to postpone consideration of the motion (chances are good Lay On The Table would not have been the correct motion to use in any case-see RONR pp. 179-191 & pp. 209-219 for the difference)?  Or do you believe you have the authority to unilaterally postpone its consideration?

What was the motion that was adopted?

The motion to Lay on the Table was probably not in order. If you could explain what exactly you were trying to do, we could probably figure out what motion you really wanted. You also can't table a motion (or whatever else you were tying to do) on your own - it's up to the assembly.

With that said, however, the chair should have explained the proper procedures to you rather than telling the assembly that it needed to vote on the issue immediately.

Then you should vote No on it.

The motion to (Lay on the) Table would not have been in order.  You could have moved to Postpone it until the next meeting, but that would have required a second and a majority vote.

Besides, it appears that you do not actually want to delay it, but rather to oppose it.  The way to do that is to vote against it, not to attempt parliamentary trickery.
