what to do when the president of an organization is not taking the interest of the association but rather personal agenda.

What can be done? Our president has made a specific agenda has ignored the members interest, his board of directors interests and is being known as the dictator. Because he is using his personal title to overpower the whole organization. When a motion was brought up he shot it down and refused to report. Saying it is what it is.

Or if that doesn't work, show up at meetings armed with lots of friends, a copy of RONRIB, and be prepared to raise hell points of order when he misbehaves.

And then elect a new president at the next election cycle.

Or just go join some other association.

RONRIB:

"Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised In Brief", Updated Second Edition (Da Capo Press, Perseus Books Group, 2011). It is a splendid summary of all the rules you will really need in all but the most exceptional situations. And only $7.50! You can read it in an evening. Get both RONRIB and RONR (scroll down) at this link. Or in your local bookstore.
