John-Jack Posted December 30, 2014 at 03:28 PM Report Share Posted December 30, 2014 at 03:28 PM Our president is an ex officio of all committies. An ad hoc commeettee was formed consisting of 4 members (not counting the ex officio) does he, as ex officio, have the right or privledge to call a meeting of the committee and set the meetings agenda? Hieu H. Huynh Posted December 30, 2014 at 03:37 PM Report Share Posted December 30, 2014 at 03:37 PM Generally the chair of the committee calls the meetings of the committee. Also, see FAQ #2 regarding ex-officio members and FAQ #14 regarding agendas.
Edgar Guest Posted December 30, 2014 at 03:38 PM Report Share Posted December 30, 2014 at 03:38 PM An ex-officio member has the same rights as (but no more rights than) any other member. If any member can call a meeting and set the agenda then an ex-officio member can (though it's unlikely that just any member can do either). Remember that he's not "the president" when he's serving on a committee; he's just another member.
