Guest Rita Posted January 3, 2015 at 02:44 PM Report Share Posted January 3, 2015 at 02:44 PM When appointing committees - nominating, budget and audit - do these need to be presented in a motion and voted upon to be approved? The President selects these individuals and asks if they would serve. These committees serve for the time they are needed for that year.Thank You
Hieu H. Huynh Posted January 3, 2015 at 03:12 PM Report Share Posted January 3, 2015 at 03:12 PM What do your bylaws say regarding committees? If the president is authorized by the bylaws to appoint members to these committees, no vote is taken. The president would announce the appointments at the next meeting. jstackpo Posted January 3, 2015 at 03:13 PM Report Share Posted January 3, 2015 at 03:13 PM The rules for who, what document, or what group, can appoint committee members and chairs, should be found in your association bylaws. If nothing is there, it should be done by motions. See p. 489 ff.
