Visitors to a meeting

Wouldn't the board have to vote on whether the visitor could stay?

Well, unanimous consent could do it but, yes, it's up to the board to permit non-members to attend a meeting (whether held in executive session or not).

I think we once came to a sort of consensus here that, in a so-called "open" meeting, non-members can attend unless excluded and, in a meeting held in executive session, non-members can't attend unless specifically and individually invited.

Edian, would you post your question as a new topic?  The board works better that way, even if you believe your question fits in with another thread/topic.  Think of this thread as Guest Darren Kelsey's thread.  It will be best if you start your own thread.

Edited to add:  Your question can be answered pretty easily.  The answer is yes, an assembly must vote to go into executive session... unless all of their meetings are held in executive session, which sometimes happens.

I can see how your question is related to this thread, but, in the future, please post your question as a new topic.
