Edgar Guest Posted January 22, 2015 at 05:15 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 05:15 PM Do I copy and paste if I only want part of somebody's post and then write my post below it? Quote the entire post and then delete anything that's not relevant (especially with lengthy posts). Use the "MultiQuote" button if you want to quote from more than one post (even from different topics though this could be confusing). The posts are held in a kind of "clipboard" until you use them. Remember that you can edit your posts if they don't come out the way you wanted.

Andy Travis Posted January 22, 2015 at 07:32 PM Author Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 07:32 PM You deleted the closing quote tag. Without it, the forum software doesn't recognize what you've posted as a quote, so it's all displayed as regular text.Testing removing some text. Andy Travis Posted January 22, 2015 at 07:36 PM Author Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 07:36 PM I did it! Thanks Edgar and Josh. I hope I'll be able to do it correctly in an actual post in the general forum. I don't think I'll attempt multiquote. But I do have one more question. Where do I find the italicize button? Edgar Guest Posted January 22, 2015 at 09:21 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 at 09:21 PM Where do I find the italicize button? It's the second button from the left on the lower row above the text box. The one that looks like a slanted "I". The button to its left is for bold text. The button to its right is for underlining text. You probably won't need much more than those three. Remember that less is often more.

Edgar Guest Posted January 23, 2015 at 12:23 AM Report Share Posted January 23, 2015 at 12:23 AM I would have liked to italicize the word quote. In this instance, putting the word "quote" in quotation marks is preferable.
