Rescind resignation of office

Unless your bylaws  provide  otherwise, a resignation is not  effective until it has been accepted by the organization.  It can be withdrawn at any time prior to acceptance.

If it has been accepted, and if your board has the authority to make an interim appointment, the former officer could be re-appointed to the position on an interim basis and even re-elected to it if he has changed his mind.  Your bylaws will be controlling on your options.  They should provide the method of filling vacancies.   Your board can make an interim appointment only if the bylaws give it that authority.

Our bylaws state the president accepts resignations and temporarily appoints an interim officer.

The resignation was accepted and an interim officer appointed.

A request has been submitted to rescind the resignation.

We have no guidance on rescinding the resignation.

What is the process at this point.

There is no process. The acceptance of the resignation cannot be rescinded.
