scawthon Posted January 30, 2015 at 02:24 PM Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 at 02:24 PM We have a Coulsil comprised of committee chairs. We have recommendations to present to the members to vote on. IWhat is the proper protocal to present recommendations as motions for debate and vote? am the clerk & moderator. It will be an item on the Agenda. So, who makes the motion? Does it need a second?
Edgar Guest Posted January 30, 2015 at 02:46 PM Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 at 02:46 PM The "reporting member" of the committee (typically, but not necessarily, the chair) makes the motion at the conclusion of the report (assuming the reporting member of the committee is also a member of the body that is receiving the report). No second is required (assuming the committee consists of more than one member).
