Guest Lazywarp Posted February 3, 2015 at 01:01 AM Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 at 01:01 AM Hello, I've been elected to the president ofice of a small subordinate Grange and am kind of stepping into the role without much hand down knowledge. I don't want to over step the "powers" of my office but sometimes our members and officers are kind of indesisive. Any help or suggestions of reading materials, websites, or videos would be much appreciated! -Lazywarp
Edgar Guest Posted February 3, 2015 at 01:39 AM Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 at 01:39 AM Get a copy of RONR In Brief and start with the chapter, "So You've Been Elected President". RONR ("The Right Book") has "Suggestions for Inexperienced Presiding Officers" (pp.454-456)..
Transpower Posted February 3, 2015 at 01:54 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 at 01:54 PM At each meeting, have a copy of the bylaws, standing rules, and any special rules of order of your organization; the parliamentary authority (hopefully RONR (11th ed.)); a list of all standing and special committees and their members; and a memorandum of the complete order of business.
