Guest Judy Posted April 26, 2015 at 02:39 PM Report Share Posted April 26, 2015 at 02:39 PM The President appoints the Parliamentarian with approval of the Executive Committee. that was done. Then all at once a month later she "fires" the parliamentarian without cause. Will this firing hold up?This took place in a small women's club. The majority on the Ex. Committee wants to keep the original parliamentarian as there was no cause for the firing. Transpower Posted April 26, 2015 at 09:28 PM Report Share Posted April 26, 2015 at 09:28 PM Ordinarily the president appoints (and fires) the parliamentarian. The board, however, must approve (or disapprove) the parliamentarian's fees.

Richard Brown Posted April 26, 2015 at 11:18 PM Report Share Posted April 26, 2015 at 11:18 PM There's a board?Well, there's an executive committee: "The President appoints the Parliamentarian with approval of the Executive Committee. that was done." "The majority on the Ex. Committee wants to keep the original parliamentarian as there was no cause for the firing.". (From the original post). I would say that either the executive committee reports to a board or it is the board.
Edgar Guest Posted April 26, 2015 at 11:51 PM Report Share Posted April 26, 2015 at 11:51 PM I would say that either the executive committee reports to a board or it is the board. I wouldn't say that. Nor would I say, as Mr. Power did, that: The board . . . must approve (or disapprove) the parliamentarian's fees.
