Guest JC Brickson Posted April 28, 2015 at 12:32 PM Report Share Posted April 28, 2015 at 12:32 PM If a motion is presented, carried, discussed, voted on, and adopted - can the president or parliamentarian come back 2 months later and rule it out of order?? Thanks!JC
Hieu H. Huynh Posted April 28, 2015 at 12:44 PM Report Share Posted April 28, 2015 at 12:44 PM Depending on the details of the motion, a point of order may be raised (see RONR 11th ed., p. 251). Why is this motion "out of order"?
Dan Honemann Posted April 28, 2015 at 01:24 PM Report Share Posted April 28, 2015 at 01:24 PM Well, it is too late to rule the motion itself out of order. It may or may not be too late to challenge the validity of whatever it is that was adopted. By the way, parliamentarians don't rule on whether or not motions are in order -- that's the job of the presiding officer.
